I am proud to have been born and raised in Toluca Lake, where my family has had roots since the 1960s. I look forward to serving the community that serves me, in any capacity.
My Name is Robyn Allyn. I have been a resident of Toluca Lake for over 30 years. I’m a married woman with two adult children. My community involvement has a long history which includes my current role as Secretary on the Executive Board of Greater Toluca Lake Neighborhood Council. I also chair of Public Safety and lead the Toluca Lake Neighborhood Watch program. My motivation to run is to help make Toluca Lake a safer and livable place to be. I would like to be a shared voice of the community for all matters of concern. It would be my honor to continue as a Neighborhood Council Board Member and to serve this wonderful community.
I’ve lived in Toluca Lake for almost 30 years and was on the original GTLNC. I served as its second President for two and a half years and continued on the Board serving as Chair of the Planning and Land Use Committee and on other committees. I am currently Chair of the Governmental Affairs Committee. I cycled off the Board twice but stayed active and then ran for the Board again and was re-elected. I helped create the Toluca Lake Beautification Partners (TLBP) made up of representatives of the GTLNC, the Toluca Lake Homeowners” Association, the Toluca Lake Chamber of Commerce and the Toluca Lake Garden Club. (Please look at the Letter from Ryan Altoon, President of the TLBP attached to this application) I’d very much like to be re-elected to this Board so I can continue the work we’ve started to improve Toluca Lake.
Hello, My name is Kevin Dees and I am proud to be a second generation Toluca Lake resident. Toluca Lake is the greatest neighborhood in the San Fernando Valley. To experience first hand how the community has come together during the trying times we have all endured over this past year has been truly heartening. I feel blessed to be raising my family in Toluca Lake and want to give back to this wonderful community. It would be an honor to serve Toluca Lake should I be lucky enough to be selected. Thank you for your consideration. Sincerely, Kevin Dees
I’m originally from the East Coast, but chose to make LA my home seven years ago and have never looked back. I moved to Toluca Lake with my husband in 2019 and immediately fell in love with the small town feel of this community. Together with our rescue dog, Bogus, we have loved exploring the neighborhood and getting to know our neighbors. I work in marketing for the Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board where I strive to bring business and events to our city. By joining the GTLNC, I hope to be a strong, progressive voice for Toluca Lake residents. Thank you for your consideration, and please be sure to vote!
I am running to help guide our city council to deal with the homeless crisis with compassion and effectiveness. The largest crisis facing Toluca Lake is homelessness. Providing a way out of homelessness where people can establish a residence, begin employment and receive the mental health services they desperately need.In Utah, getting people off the streets using a system of halfway houses with varying levels of rules has reaped much success. Providing a robust homeless and halfway house system where we can transition people off of the streets who want to. We must also consider what to do with those who simply “love living on the streets” and how to mitigate their impact. The current policy of letting anyone pitch a tent anywhere in the city is simply unacceptable. We must balance property rights with the rights of those the homeless and make cogent, compassionate and fair decisions regarding what to do with our sickest citizens while maintaining a high quality of life for all.
I’m Colby Jensen, a 20-year Toluca Lake homeowner, businessman and current Vice President of the Greater Toluca Lake Neighborhood Council. Two years ago my fellow Tolucans elected me to address crime and overdevelopment. As a Watch Captain, I continually work with our Senior Lead Officer to address burglaries and trespassing. To mitigate homeless related crimes, I promote LAPD’s Mental Evaluation Unit; a productive and humane alternative to the ineffective “catch and release” revolving door. As a member of GTLNC’s Planning and Land Use Committee, I stand up against oversized projects that threaten the charm and safety of our community. In fact, I was one of only two board members to vote against the controversial Bloomfield development. However, I fully support Toluca Lake’s local businesses, voting to approve essential licenses and advancing COVID-19 assistance. I’m asking for your vote so I can continue to serve our beautiful village by the lake. Move Boldly With Colby!
My name is Tim Davis, my wife and I have been Toluca Lake residents since 2013. We are thankful to be living and raising our 3 young children here in Toluca Lake. I am an insurance adjuster by trade, and since 2011 I have served as President of our family owned business. My desire to pursue the GTLNC board position to actively help our neighborhood remain a wonderful and safe place to live for all stakeholders.
Hello, My name is Shawn Besharaty. I have been a resident in Toluca Lake since 1971 and love living in this city. I am looking to be more involved in our community and feel that this is the best avenue to do so!
I have been a resident of West Toluca Lake for 8 years and have served as the Treasurer of GTLNC Board for the past 5 years. I Toluca Lake is a lovely neighborhood with wonderful people. I hope to continue to serve the Greater Toluca Lake area, collaborate with stakeholders to solve the problems we face, beautify our neighborhoods and make Toluca Lake an even better place to live.
I’m a former reporter and anchor for North Hollywood’s landmark non-profit radio station KPFK. After reporting on numerous corruption cases involving local elected officials across the Southland, I know that transparency is fundamental. Now more than ever, our voices are vitally important in keeping our city safe and productive. The homeless crisis is out of control, and I will work diligently to help remedy it. My energy, enthusiasm, and work ethic are just what the board needs during these trying times. Thank you.
Toluca Lake has been my home for over a decade, and I can’t imagine living anywhere else. As a current GTLNC Board Member, Assistant Secretary, and Co-chair of the Environmental Committee, I see first hand how much the GTLNC contributes to our community – and all the work behind the scenes that goes into it. I’m running now so that I can continue working with and for the community to make Toluca Lake the best place to live and work in LA. Thank you for your consideration. Please register and vote!
My interests include preserving residential neighborhoods and quality of life, ensuring good government and transparency, adherence to due process and democratic principles, the rights of taxpayers, code-compliant development and the avoidance of adverse impacts, and accessibility to city staff and their responsiveness to the needs of citizens. I am president of the West Toluca Lake Residents Association, and a 28-year resident.
As a Burbank native, TL has always been a part of my life. When I was young my parents would take me to Bob’s. Beginning with Ramsey-Shilling Commercial. Selling, leasing, meeting long-time residents, and welcoming new residents to the community was all in a day’s work. The quality of the community expanded my interest in this perfect pocket of LA! Officially moving to TL in 2003, my 1st home a “fixer”, ultimately sold by Shirley Duenckel/Jon Molin. I found my current home with my wife Kari. I organized the “Toluca Lake Charity Car Show” – an event that involved closing Riverside inviting in the community, residents and local businesses for a day of festivities. Showcasing classic cars, creating a spring event to meet your neighbors, and walk down Riverside for families and friends to eat, shop, and enjoy our community. My long-standing passion for TL, its residents and businesses, compels me to meaningfully contribute to GTLNC. I ask for your vote!
My name is Matt Kamin. My husband and I have been residents of Toluca Lake since 2009 and have absolutely fallen in love with our community. I think especially during this past year, we have all learned how lucky we are to live here. There are many things that we can do better and my goal is to be a voice of the community and bring all of us together.
A year and a half ago I moved to Toluca Lake in hopes to begin a career in film, what I found instead was a community that supported and cared for one another. Since then I have been searching for ways I can a help to others, and believe this position is how. As a young person, my perspective and experience as a leader can bring a voice that is often unheard in local politics. I’m running as a democratic socialist because I believe our current two party system maintains misguided and outdated solutions to problems that are decades old.

Because I have proudly served on the GTLNC for the last nine years, and I want to continue. I have Asperger Syndrome, and I feel that stakeholders with disabilities should be and need to be included. We are capable of positive community work.
Fred Iberri is a 4th Generation native of Los Angeles who grew up in Toluca Lake, attending St. Charles and then graduating from Notre Dame High School and now lives a few blocks away from where his great grandmother first bought in Toluca Lake in the 1950s. No one cares more about the well being of Toluca Lake than Fred and the Iberri family. This would be the second term for Fred as he has previously served one term on the GTLNC when it was first formed, nearly 20 years ago. * A vote for Fred will ensure the preservation of our special neighborhood *
